Any suggestions in writing a cover letter to volunteer/gain experience in a veterinary office? - cover letter dental nurse

I have experience in working with animals ... I worked as a nursing assistant and a dental assistant. I am in my late 30s and in pursuing a career more fun are interested. I have never been offered or worked with animals, I'm not sure how to do it. If someone is willing to help, very grateful for your suggestions.
